KILLER DWARFS
line up: Russ Dwarf (vocals)
Mike Dwarf (guitar/vocals)
Bad Rondo Dwarf (bass)
Darrel Dwarf (drums/vocals)
These dwarfs are from the Canadian Toronto and are certainly not dwarfs, when
it concerns making good, tight heavy rock in the same style as Santers, also
from Canada. The debut album isn't that good yet, they're still looking for an
own identity on this record. Guitarplayer Bryce and bassplayer Ange Dwarf are
replaced by Mike and Bad Rondo Dwarf, and this is good for the band: the second
album, "Stand Tall" is simply outstanding, even the production, though the
album is released on a small independent label. The characteristically voice of
Russ is the most outstanding of the Killer Dwarfs: a husky, light voice, a bit
less raw than for instance Bryan Adams. The second album sells more than good
and this gets them a deal with Epic. With producer Simon Hanhart (Waysted,
Marillion) there is a slight change of style on the third album, "Big Deal".
The songs are a bit less heavy and a bit more 'Motley Crue', without losing
their own identity. end of '88 they tour in Europe as support act for Iron
Maiden.
